Declaration of Choice of Learning Experience – Semester 2

In preparation for the last half of the school year, it is necessary that you complete a Declaration for the Choice of Learning Experience for EACH of your children. Whether you wish your child to remain with their current choice or switch, it is very important that we receive a response for every child no later than noon on January 6th, 2021.

Black Gold is committed to providing quality educational programming for all and this information is needed to ensure that appropriate staff and resources are in place for both In-school learning and Distance Learning.

You will find the Declaration of Choice of Learning Experience – Semester 2 Form when you log in to your PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal. Once you select ‘Student Fees & Forms’ on the left side of the page, click on one of your children’s names to access the form. After you submit, you will receive an email with a copy of your responses. To access forms for your other children, please select their name at the top of the page. If you have difficulty accessing your PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal, please contact your school for assistance.

This Form closes at noon on January 6th, 2021.

NOTE: Students will not be able to switch between In-person Learning and Distance Learning after the declaration of choice deadline of noon, January 6, 2021. 

If your child needs to stay home due to illness, quarantine, or isolation, the classroom teacher will provide work. As partners in your children’s education, parents/guardians will guide their child as they complete this work at home.  If your family circumstances change during the school year, please contact your school (In-school or Distance Learning) to discuss what can be done to support you.

As Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) is a specialty program, families will not receive a Declaration Form for their Pre-K child. Please speak directly with your child’s program teacher before noon, on January 6, 2021, if you require a change in programming from February 1 to June 25, 2021, and they will work with you to find a solution.
